2026 Women in AI Awards
The inaugural Women in AI Awards recognize women in the Kansas City metro whose work is shaping how AI is built, adopted, and led, from early-career professionals to executives guiding AI inside large organizations.
Six awards will be presented, from the Rising Star Award to the Women's AI Champion Award. Nominees must live or work in the Kansas City metro. Anyone may submit a nomination, and self-nominations are welcome.
Nominations close: Sunday, September 27, 2026
Awards presentation: Thursday, October 8, 2026, 4:30 to 7:00 PM
Where: KU Edwards Campus, 12600 Quivira Rd, Overland Park, KS 66213

The evening includes a featured speaker, an expert panel on building and leading with AI, and the presentation of the awards, with time for networking.

Kansas City's AI Community, Built by Its People
The Kansas City AI Club started in 2023 as a small group that wanted to talk about AI plainly. Since then, more than 5,000 people have come to nearly 40 events, and most of them sell out.
The people in the room are the point. Engineers and data scientists sit next to executives, founders, students, and people who are new to AI. We see AI adoption as a people problem more than a technology problem, so the conversations stay practical: what people built, what worked, and what didn't.
The format changes from month to month: panel discussions, demo days, AI Lightning Pitches, and special events like the Women in AI Awards and the Kansas City AI Expo. If you work with AI in Kansas City, or want to, come to one and see who's there.
How to Take Part
Come to an Event
Most months there's something on the calendar: panel discussions, demo days, AI Lightning Pitches, and special events. Most events sell out, so register early to get a seat.
Share Your Work
Built something with AI, or learned something the hard way? We're looking for speakers, panelists, demo day presenters, and Lightning Pitch entries from people doing the work in Kansas City.
Partner With Us
Sponsors support the events and meet the people in the room: practitioners, business leaders, and founders across the metro. Sponsorship is available for individual events, quarterly, or annually.
